1. A bit more changes - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I think this change will be HUGE. As other posters have said, it will affect the game in myriad ways - nerfing snipers, amarr etc etc etc My question is WHY? Why put in a massive gameplay change? (good or bad, I can't judge). Was the game broke...

2. The quality of PvP in MMO's. (rant-ish post) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm a carebear. I am SUCH a carebear. And I love Eve PVP. Because it's strategic. If you prefer twitch gameplay, fine. Sometimes so do I. But for me the biggest part of my PVP takes place on the fitting screen.

3. Bookmark problem solution - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Crumple, you talk about this in self-contradictory terms. You say it is a grind. I think grinds are boring, unchallenging bits of gameplay which contain little or no risk but must be repeated in order to progress. You then say that hanging out n...

4. Bookmark problem solution - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I wish someone would bother to explain what's wrong with this idea instead of yelling and flaming like 3-year-olds. I don't understand the problem. If you do, please take a moment to explain. Sounds OK to me. Especially if near-gate BMs are delet...

5. Bookmark problem solution - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
This seems like a really good idea to me. It doesn't force people to get rid of bookmarks - it just allows them to do something else instead. Actually I think it's a great idea. And as for the people who flamed it - I really can't explain how w...

6. Learning Skills - How many people dont sub because..... - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The game's great. The documentation and help is lousy. From day 1 I've been running combat missions, fighting belt pirates, selling loot and only OCCASIONALLY training some learning skills. Recently, still a noobette in a cruiser, I've been fail...

7. Does anybody else actually like the new traffic management? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
thread necromancy FTL this is not about the current queues. This is about the old 'traffic advisories' which happen when the server is messed up. Someone decided that they sound similar and resurrected this thread, allowing others to get annoyed...

9. Dont be an idiot pirate.(roleplaying ethics.) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
"I was RPing' seems to have just become an excuse for being rude. When you play pen and paper RP games, if you insult someone's character it's always clear. You make it clear. In EVE et al people just swear at you if your playstyle offends and th...

10. Use of the phrase 'retarded' - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think part of the clash here is that, to me anyway, retarded is an insult used for people who have learning disabilities. So I don't like people to use it, coz it reminds me of the scum who do insult real people who have disabilities. Now in Am...

11. A semi-vet's take on the Learning grind. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think sometimes the vets' advice is a bit lacking. One of my friends was told (during our trial) to train all the learning skills to 4. He got bored, quit. Might he have otherwise? Not sure. But it wasn't a help. I love combat. I hate mining. ...

12. Physics Question? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Eve clearly has non-Newtonian physics. Reaction Mass, anyone? Does the 'casimir' thingy come from Eve backstory or some real-life speculative engineering?

13. 1 au = 149 598 000 km, but in EVE ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I don't know lots about it, but I thought there was a big difference between Einstein's relativity and the English word 'relative'. As far as I know, nothing in Einstein's theories precluded a physical centre to the universe.

14. EVE - Just another grinding MMO? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I really don't like to argue, but what on earth wouldn't the OP consider a grind? For me a grind is simply something you HAVE to do to progress. In simpler MMOs, you need xp to progress. It's that simple. In Eve you have so many options I don't...

15. Racial bonuses, what would you like to see? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'd like to see no bonuses. None whatsoever. Sorry, but that's a fantasy thing. I love fantasy, but I love that this game is more free, more open. Not race time class equals character - WOW etc do that just fine. I'd be happy if there were more i...

19. PvP is not Grief play: Discuss and define each - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
There's not much point defining "griefing" as "all the bad stuff in the 'verse". The trouble is, like I said before, griefing is ALL about the intent. So all you can do is try to make it hard to grief. Which it actually is, considering this is a...

20. Definition of Piracy ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm not trying to be rude at all, but I would guess you are American. You're assuming that the law defines piracy, not what people think or feel. For me (an English/Irishman settled in Nihon) what defines piracy, or any other act, is that piracy i...
